This is the second game where this happens now so I guess it’ll become a running gag. I guess Sanger  will actually be the one to sing Gong during the Keisar Ephes fight.

SRW OGMD GET

Finally got this after a year. Can’t buy too many games at release when you’re a poorf*g like me.

Bought the PS3 Japanese version since I don’t have a PS4. From what I’ve seen, the English translation of the PS4 SEA version is very bad grammatically speaking, but they managed to get most plot information correctly and there’s no misinterpretation.
Thanks to this if there’s something I don’t understand while playing the game in Japanese I’ll check people’s videos of the English version.

I heard some months ago they patched the game, translating the summaries of the past OG games too. I hope they did a good job. That way it’ll contribute to having better accurate info of SRW OG story in English.

Feels weird I’ll finally get to see how Raftclanz looks like in 3d animation.Well, unless I die before playing the stage where EKUSUTORAKUTA, MAKISHIMAMU! happens. Though if I die and manage to go to paradise I’ll see it anyway. Waited so long for this. I purposely didn’t watch most of the new units appearing in OGMD’s animations on Youtube so I can discover while playing.

It’s also the first time a SRW game I already played and finished is getting into OG. I played 4 and Alpha 1 on Alpha 1 on Dreamcast but didn’t finish them before playing OG1 on GBA.

SRW J got a special place in my game related memories since it’s what also made me discover a show that joined my list of favorites shows ever: Tekkaman Blade. (though technically I played W before, and saw it first in W, not J).

Also looking forward to Haken being in. Haven’t played Project X Zone 1 so haven’t him for years. Speaking  of which, I wonder if there will ever be another “Namco X Capcom”-like now that the games’ director, Morizumi, left Monolith Soft. I haven’t played PxZ 1 nor 2, but I guess Reiji and Xiamu’s story is over now. Starting with Namco x Capcom, then Mugen no Frontier, Mugen no Frontier EXCEED, and then PxZ 1&2. That’s 5 games in total.  Would be nice if the other Mugen no Frontier characters got in OG as well. And the Masoukishin ones too. (Especially Circuit kun and Elisha, I’m sure they’ll put int at least those two)

I think they might announce a new SRW later today so I thought I’d write about the SRW games I’d like to have one day.
Edit: Welp, they didn’t announce a new SRW game during the stream. But just like May’s stream, Terada said at the end that there will be something next stream. So I hope next livestream at the end of July will have a new game announcement.

The series lists are in Japanese as it’s easy to get the english names, and that way, if a japanese SRW fan stumbles into this, they’ll understand easily.

I’m looking forward to the game though I don’t have a ps4 or vita. I still remember how disappointed when they initially revealed it with the castlist having half stuff already in Z3 but then PV1 had Huckebein and Grungust and Mazin Emperor G and other cool things and then they showed they’re putting in tons of new ideas and systems to try and make the games better. Looking forward to how it’ll turn out.I hope they’re good ideas.

At least series that were already in Z3 are getting what they should have got in Z3, like Athrun and Lunamaria actually being playable or Fowler being in this time.

Shiki Doji said he’s the one who drew the portrait for Fowler. He probably did new ones for the other characters that don’t have an anime design yet compared to the ones he already did for Z3 too.

Seems the FMP units attack animations are still utlra weird and stiff but a bit better. Fowler is in so this means you’ll probably actually fight Leonard’s team unlike in Z3. There will probably be a stage with Leonard+Fowler+Sabina+Casper. Crousseau is my favorite character in FMP so I’m looking forward to his art battle with Fowler. Maybe there will be a way to make Leonard stop being crazy and join too.

I’m also really interested in the scenario too. Similar to how Z used Orguss as the base of everything, seems they’re using Yamato as the base of everything along with a bit of Gundam, which isn’t surprising considering the amount of gundam series in the cast. I wonder if Kaworu will be the same one from Z3.
Looking forward to how the Cross Ange plot will play out too. Looking forward Ersha and Vivian being cool and Rosalie doing dumb stuff. And looking forward to the double Voltekka combo attack between Ange and Salamandisney.

I have a dream of a SRW with tons of series I like including Pretty Rhythm and Cross Ange, and with people thinking Hijiri is automatically evil because all the blond men with his voice are. And Ange bullying him or something and ending in a fight with Juné protecting him.

Obari tweeted he’s happy Huckebeins got resurrected.

When they first announced the game I was very disappointed about the cast list, a lot of stuff was in Z3 already and they’ll definitely recycle animations so it feels really redundant. But the cast list turns out to be the only disappointing thing now.  I’m really hyped about the game now. I don’t have a ps4 nor a vita though.

Protagonist 1: Murakumo Souji, seiyuu is Kirimoto Takuya.

His seiyuu’s first involvement in SRW was a SRWOG drama CD more than 10 years ago, voicing dr Robert  (Rob). Then he voiced him in the anime.  When voicing stufff Okaiyu was having fun voicing and Kirimoto used to be like “one day I want to voice a pilot too, this looks so fun…” Then in Masoukishin he voices “chika aidoru” aka Gido aka notCraig Daniel James Bond.

Protagonist 2: Kisaragi chitose, seiyuu is Kanda Akemi.

1st time she voiced something related was SD Gundam Sangokuden, but it’s her 1^st time voicing a human. As she was a robot in SD Gundam (Sun Shang Xiang)

She’s really happy to be voicing a main character in SRW.

Both chars designed by Watanabe Wataru, Masoukishin F& Cross Omega’s chara designer. His designs are really good especially the guys. I really hope more Masoukishin characters get in OG now that the series is over. Especially the characters he designed for F like Circuit kun, Elisha and Lionel. I definitely think Circuit will get in one day as he was considered the main character of the game until Masaki gets rescued and got to be put on the same level as Masaki Shu Eran.
Like with Chitose here, sometimes Watanabe Wataru make the girls’ outfit too much sexual fanservice  oriented. Her outfit is one thing, since there’s already tons of SRW OG characters with revealing outfits, but that outfit PLUS that pose makes it seems they’re trying way too hard to pander. Why couldn’t he have just drawn her standing up normally. At least they’re self aware of it and Kirimoto was joking about it and taking her pose.

OG mecha design by Linebarell co-mangaka Shimizu Eiichi,  1st time he does a OG  for a SRW  if I heard correctly.

Then there’s the Grungust pilot and the Huckebein pilot that wear the same pilot outfits as the OG characters in 4/F/F Final, which is a great fanservice move. This makes me really hyped. I really like these pilots suits.

They’re both designed by 糸井美帆/Itoi Miho who already did lotof previous OG characters designs like the SRW D or J characters.

Huckebein pilot/Bert is voiced by Kanemoto Ryousuke. (It’s worth noting he was voicing one of Advent’s subordinate, Red in Z3 Rengoku)

Grungust pilot/Charlotte/Lottie is voiced by Terui Haruka. I’m looking forward to her KEITOU RADOU KEN! ANKENSATSU! ZAN!! The two of them don’t have lotsof previous roles, I’m happy SRW always gives some new OG roles to less popular seiyuus.

One of the things about SRW OG chars these days I’m sick of is the theme of two seaters of a guy and a girl so I’m happy it’s not like that in V. Gonna sound like tumblr but I’m getting really tired of “heroines” who’re just there for the MC. While Suzune and others recent OGs chars were great characters, I’m really sick of two seaters OG one girl one boy OGs. Plus they pretty much did every relation possible by now. Teacher student duo. Brohter sister. etc. So I’m happy this isn’t the case with V.

It’s not choose between 4 or more characters + their personalities like in 4 or Alpha 1 but the fact that you can choose  protags again+ Huckebeins and Grungusts really makes it feel closer to older games and more anniversary like.

The other protagonist you didn’t choose will appear as well. I like Souji he looks cool and almost black skinned gonna sound like tumblr but that makes me happy.

Bamco asked Terada and the others producers what they could do to make the game feel more anniversary like, and putting in Huckebeins and Grungusts was one of the suggestions, as they’re the first ever OG mecha with Gespensts and Cybuster and Granzon and Valsione. Forgot who came first right now.

 

The Grungusts and Huckebeins in V have absolutely no connection to the ones in OG games, they will even be made by new scientists and a new laboratory which isn’t Tesla labs. In the PV is says they’re made by Nikola Vilhelm laboratories.

There’s a preoerder code that gets you the Grungust and Huckebein earlier in the game. However they’re in the game anyway, you’ll just get them normally later. You get bonus BGMs if you preorder too.

Terada said to look forward to the story of how Kouji will get in Shin Mazinger Zero, as people who read the manga know this can’t end well. And it’s the Kouji from Z hen/anime that’s in, not from the manga. He also said something about why Tetsuya pilots the Majin Emperor G and something about him screaming his lines a lot but didn’t catch it.

Crossbone appears pretty early in the game but the 1st mech is the OG.

Majin Emperor G isn’t related to Getter Emperor in any way. (It’s understandable some people could think that as Mazinkaiser which was the first original Mazinger specifically made for SRW was a product of Getter Rays)

On July 13, the official Suparobo twitter started something funny.

They said Shana Mia is asking us to forgive her, and if we forgive her we’ll get a wallpaper. They recycled the intro scene of Touya’s route in J/OGMD with Shana Mia asking Touya to forgive her. Some answered:
“Fury units’ evading rates are too high so I don’t forgive you”
“This time you’re playable as a subpilot unlike how it was in J so I forgive you”
“It looks like your clothes are wet and sticking to you skin so I forgive you”
“The game is mostly SRW J’s story and doesn’t  have enough content so I don’t forgive you”
Etc

I wrote “Hate isn’t a good thing so I forgive you for myself and the future”. In the end it ended with 78% I forgive you so the wallpaper got published on the official site a few days later, on august 2. The wallpaper is available until August 31.

I still haven’t bought Super Robot Wars The Moon Dwellers. Barely spoiled myself anything either. I want to get the ps3 version. Can’t get the english asian region version since I don’t have a ps4. It’s a bit irritating because used copies of the jp ps4 version are already very cheap on Amazon, around 4000 yen while ps3 version still is around 5600 yen. I also need to find a way to buy on Amazon anyway so I’m not in a hurry. Maybe I’ll just wait until Persona 5 is released and buy it instead, and wait even more for the price to drop for OGMD.

SRW OGMD leaks

Some videos leaked and screens too Looks even cooler than the best animations in Z3. They implied in interviews dark brain is coming back so i figured pachinko kaiser would get new animations but this is way more awesome than what i expected. all dat obari. This is pretty much anime. Gravion oniichan would be proud.

I don’t want to spoil myself too much so I stopped following the 2ch thread after Coustwell appeared. I did my J run with him so pretty happy he’s in, even if only as an enemy from what I saw for now.

I really feel like replaying Exceed now. I really should to since I didn’t get much of the plot back then. It’s really incredible how they manage to animate it in a way that’s typically cool for SRW but also keeping the juggle feel and coolness particular of Mugen no Frontier. Really can’t wait to see the other attacks. And then please give him a FULL STAKE combo attack with Kyosuke and Arierre.

Can’t even type properly from all the hype

Aschen is in too as a subpilot for Haken. And if I heard right Haken’s Gespenst is pilotable by everyone and they’ll have fun lines, but Aschen can’t switch and become a main pilot. Looking forward to AschenxLamia stuff.

All the seiyuus were pretty fun at the event. Green River joking saying he’s voicing the XO girl in Cross Omega instead of Mikami Shiori.

They screwed up so bad, why there’s no V things?

I actually liked Z3 despite all it’s flaws like tons of units being attack only, since I liked the story and all the cross series fanservice jokes but I’m really disappointed about this. This is probably the first time I’m really disappointed about a SRW reveal.

In terms of series this is pretty much Z3 part 3. Without counting sequels etc, there’s 11 series here that were already in Z3. They showed new attacks for units from Z3 but I bet all their other attacks have the same animation. Zeta and Nu have the same animations except upgraded a bit.

At least there’s Cross Ange and it looked really cool. Really looking forward to Double Voltekka with Ange and Salamandisney. Hilda looked really cool too. Can’t wait for Embryo interaction with others series too. I hope this cheers up Fukuda since he must be pretty horrible now after loosing his wife some months ago.

At least they fixed Arbalest’s animation. Now they would really be taking us for idiots if they didn’t. I hope Sousuke and Leonard can understand each other and Leonard is recruitable. I hope they fixed Falke’s animations too. Clouseau is one of my favorite FMP character so I was pretty mad about that.

And I’m happy for the Shin Mazinger Zero/Shin Mazinger Zero Vs Ankoku Daishogun mangaka duo that it got into SRW while Terada already told them no once, because it’s too powerful. Even have the tweet saved though can’t find it right now. Too bad it’s units only though, no beef Doctor Hell doing speeches on dictators being cool for wanting to dominate the world and asking if the american president has anything between the legs for not wanting to do the same, while lifting him by the crotch. Probably no Minerva X either. I read Shin Mazinger Zero, but never read all the the sequel Vs Ankoku Daishogun sequel as there’s no furigana. Only know the general story from skimming through the chapters+the ending. Also ZERO is supposed to be evil and the final boss. All the JP fans who actually read the manga were all like “NOO KOUJI DON’T GET IN ZERO ITS EVIL ITS THE FINAL BOSS” in the nico comments, was pretty funny. I guess since there’s no plot Kouji can pilot it fine or something.

If I heard right Suzumura Kenichi is the one who asked Terada to think about putting Yamato 2199. They said Yamato is a super excpetional thing that’s it’s in. Even then I still don’t want to loose hope and want to believe there’s hope for a Super Battleship Wars with Seikai no Monshou, Harlock, Yamato, Moretsu Pirates, Cobra, Ulysse 31, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, Taiyou no ko Esteban etc.

Similar to how they finally announced a new FMP anime after it got in Z3, maybe we’ll get a Crossbone anime soon. I never read the manga though so can’t say I’m legitimately hyped about it.

Hiyama san and Water Tree 7 were at the event because Haken got in OGMD and Might Gaine and Cross Ange got in SRW V, not because they were announcing Mugen No Frontier 3. Water Tree 7 voices Neige in MnF so really thought they would. Anyway that’s what the “MnF3” at the previous live event actually meant.

If I heard right, the new producer of the SRW series said they put Haken and Aschen in OGMD because he used to be the producer for Mugen No Frontier. Terada is still producer for OG but this guy whose name I forgot is new non OG producer since Z3 or so iirc. It’s nice they did this now since Excellen’s seiyuu Mizutani Yuuko san died. They would have waited one more game and we would have never got recorded lines about Excellen doing jokes while piloting Black Ghost. chatting with Haken. Hopefully they aren’t the only two MnF characters in the game. Also Hiyama san was wearing a hat like Haken.

But yeah even if I was rich I would never buy SRW V. I don’t support scams. Just pirate it. As much as I like Z/ZZ/CCA, Cross Ange, Shin Mazinger Zero and FMP, I’m not giving them any money for that. Lazypresto reached new heights. I guess it’ll still sell a lot since it’ll be release in english. Never would have imagined non OG SRW in english one day. SRW is one of the reasons I learn Japanese.

Now that I think about it again, that’s probably why they reused so many series. They want to try and see if the English version will sell or not.They insisted saying it’s the first time SRW will be translated in English overseas, ignoring OG1&2 on GBA and Mugen no Frontier 1 on DS. And they insisted on how SRW is “crossing the sea”. V meaning Voyage is probably also a reference to that. So yeah they don’t want to take risks with this English test so that’s why they’re recycling more than 50% of things from Z3.

SRW OG The Moon Dwellers Calvina Tenia Al Van

Didn’t notice it first with the magazine scans but now that we have a good look with the official site getting updated, Calvina’s face looks really weird. Even worse than Melua’s face. At least Melua’s face is just typical post 2010 kawaii face. Calvina’s face is just bad. Her face looks normal in the battle portraits too. It’s just her main art that they somehow screwed up.

Not gonna write a post for every update. I’m just really surprised at how weird her face is. Also I’m still betting on her being voiced by M.A.O

In terms of clothes all the character’s designs are better compared ot the original J designs. Tenia’s clothes didn’t change much; Katia got more detail. Melua’s dress is really nice. But her original J design with the pencil skirt was nice too. There isn’t that many pencil skirts.

Bellzelutte description says “one of Katia Tenia or Melua” so both Calvina and Touya will be able to switch between the girls like in J, that’s cool. I still hope they weren’t lazy and actually made in HD 3 different finisher animations for the mechs’s upgrades, depending on the girl, just like in J.

SRW OG The Moon Dwellers english version announced

This is really big news. Really nice. Makes me really happy. Hopefully every OG game will be translated now. Maybe even non OG too.

I’d actually buy it but it’s for ps4 only. These days I only buy games in Japanese because of wanting to practice with them, and I reached a point where playing games in English makes me feel I’m wasting part of the time used to play, as if I was playing them in French.  It’s a real shame it’s ps4 only. I’m not planning to buy one anytime soon. Sometimes it isn’t bad, I bought Yoru no Nai Kuni in Japanese on ps3. If I waited for the english version, I would have waited for nothing since us/eu version is ps4 only.

 Even if there’s a risk the English translation is bad like SAO Infinity Moment, it would be nice to have the game in English so if I ever get kids they could play it more easily. Or just to lent it to friends. I guess I’ll just tell them to buy it. Anyway I’ll just get the Japanese version like always. On ps3.
